Mark 6:51-52
51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52 for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that miracles and things that would be considered supernatural should be the norm to the believer. Sadly, the truth of the matter is that when something spectacular or miraculous happens at the hands of a believer most Christians are just as shocked or even frightened as the non-believers. When Jesus walked out on the water and stepped into the disciples boat, the text says that they were astonished. This is just a few days after seeing the sick healed and demons cast out, and only hours after they saw the miracle feeding of thousands take place with their very own hands. That’s right, the miraculous multiplication of food took place in the disciples’ hands, not Jesus’. Jesus simply spoke the blessing and then handed the food off to them. Those same hands were now tired and achy from rowing all night. Jesus had given them the authority over all things physical. Just because that moment had passed, doesn’t mean that the authority had been taken from them. All one of them had to do was put his hand in water and tell the waves to cease, or reach out and command the wind to be calm. But instead, they had reverted back to waiting on Jesus to come and do it for them. If you’re a believer the Bible says that signs and wonders will follow you. Jesus gave you the same authority to walk in that He does. You have the choice, you can wait and see if someone else will step up or you can exercise that authority and watch God do the miraculous through you. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
