Mark 6:46-47
46 And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray. 47 And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land.
Jesus motive behind sending the disciples on ahead of Him was quite obviously two fold. First, He wanted to see to it that those who served alongside Him were taken care of. Secondly, He knew that He needed some Daddy time. If His disciples were exhausted, then imagine how tired Jesus was doing the same things they did along with the added pressure and stress that comes with being the one in charge. Jesus already had in mind how He was going to get across the sea, what He needed was time in the Presence of God. This wasn’t simply for His benefit, but for the benefit of those whom God had placed in His care. You owe it to yourself and to those who depend upon you, to daily take time to get the Holy Spirit’s refreshing and perspective on things. Your spouse, your children, your co-workers, and those whom you’d consider to be in your circle of trust, need you to be in tune with the Lord. God never intended for you to be you outside of Him. The time you spend in His presence enables Him to show you the circumstances and situations that are going on in your life from His perspective. It also allows Him to reenforce your confidence in who He created you to be…and that’s the you that the world around you needs. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
