Luke 5:19
but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus.

Have you ever set out to do something for the Lord and from the time you set your mind to do it you felt like you were fighting an uphill battle the entire time? For many who find themselves in this situation, they consider it to be a sign that they’ve somehow missed it. People tend believe that if God really wanted them to do something it would be easy. This is far from true. In fact, if you’re not encountering some friction, then you may want to check up and make sure you’re on the right track. The men who were attempting to get their paralyzed friend to Jesus didn’t look at the huge crowd and say, “Well bro, I guess we missed it. We can’t get you Jesus. There’s no more room in the house.” They didn’t drop the man and walk away because they knew what they were supposed to do and how his life would be forever changed if they could just get him to Jesus. So, they carried him up the stairs, dug a whole in Jesus’ roof and proceeded to lower the man down in front of the Lord. They weren’t concerned with the crowd, having to come back and fix the roof, interrupting the service, or what the religious people on the front row thought, they just did what their love for the man motivated them to do. When you step out in faith to do something for the Lord know that going with God means going against the norm, and some friction is to be expected. Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean that it’s not right. Allow His grace to empower your obedience and watch the Lord come through every time. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
