Luke 5:20
And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

Have you ever asked the Lord for something and you didn’t get what you were expecting? Or, maybe you feel like you didn’t anything at all. Today’s scripture is one of those situations. The man that was lowered thought roof and laid in front of Jesus was in need of a miracle, he was paralyzed. So imagine the thoughts that would have gone through people’s minds when Jesus said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” What? He needs healing. What does forgiveness have to do with anything? This is where faith and trust in the Lord have play the leading role in your life. You must believe that He always knows what’s best and needed most in that moment. You see, under the Law, unless you had made the proper sacrifices and completed the proper rituals and ceremonies, you had no right to ask or receive anything from the Lord. But, when Jesus forgave him, he knew that there was nothing that God had against him so he was then free to receive anything from the Lord. This, in and of itself, was of far greater value than anything physical the man could have asked for. The same is true in your life. Sometimes, what you ask for is not actually the need that should take priority, and it may not be the problem at all, but merely a symptom of a greater issue. The Lord knew the man couldn’t walk but He also knew that in order to receive his healing something else had to be addressed. If you’re asking for something and not receiving, ask the Holy Spirit for insight into whether or not your asking for the right thing. He’s not withholding from you, but He may be needing you to address something else first. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
