The Sulphur Springs City Council was briefed last night on city management’s decision to place Public Safety Director James “Jay” Sanders on paid administrative leave. The council did not take any action after the briefing.

Sanders was placed on administrative leave on Friday after the City of Sulphur Springs learned Sanders is a person of interest in an active investigation. Texas Commission on Law Enforcement confirmed yesterday that they have an open and active investigation regarding Sanders.
