Daily Devotional from The Way Bible Church for March 19th, 2019

Jesus said to the servants; “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. (TPT)

There is a lot of symbolism in these versus that our Pastor is preaching from, John 2:1-11. V1 “third day”, V2 “wedding banquet”, V6 “6 stone jars”, V7 “fill the jars”, V8 “Master of ceremonies” and we could go on and on. When we read our Bibles, God is speaking in so many different ways. His desire is to never speak over our heads but always to prepare our hearts. He wants to prepare our hearts for His filling. The jars, there were 6 stone jars and 6 is the number for the Spirit of Man and stone is what our hearts are before Holy Spirit enters in. Now the filling, there is something to the servants filling the jars “to the brim”. John 10:10b says “I AM come that you would have life…to the full” (NIV). There is fulness in Christ but it takes us filling ourselves to the brim. The servants could have put water in the jars but not

filled them and that is like our lives sometimes. We will wake up in the morning and click a Bible app and read a verse or devotional, its filling the jar but not to the brim. It took the servants a little more time to fill the jars to the brim, but when the Master of the Ceremony, representative of Father God, tasted the wine, it was the best that He had drank.
