Daily Devotional from The Way Bible Church for March 8th, 2019
Friday, March 8th
John 2:8-9
8 And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. 9 When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.”
What a beautiful picture this is. Before Jesus was involved in your life, your heart was full of sin, shame, guilt, and regret. But, upon turning to Him, He spoke life over you, flushed out all of the old shameful things, and filled you with new wine. The things that didn’t belong, that were holding you back and keeping you from being in a right relationship with God were gone and the Holy Spirit now filled your heart. Can you see it, a pure and practical picture of what took place in your life when you were born again and filled wit the Spirit of God. But it doesn’t stop there. After you were born again, Jesus presented you to the Father who looks at you through His Son’s blood and now speaks blessing over you. He sees you as the best, as perfect, and complete. You are now born of the Spirit and your Father is well pleased with what He sees. The Son changed you, the Spirit filled you, and the Father approves of you.
