John 3:16-17
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Happy Valentine’s Day! On this day each year people choose to place special emphasis on showing their significant others how much they love them. Flowers, cards, candy, jewelry, dinners at nice restaurants, and many other expressions are used to express feelings that in day to life may not otherwise be shared. As you you put forth the time and effort to show to the love of your life how much you care, take a moment to remember the original ‘Valentines’ day…Easter. On this day, the greatest gift of love ever given was hung on a cross so that your eternal salvation could be secured. Love was expressed in it’s truest and purest form and He bled form the Garden to Golgotha so that you could experience life to the fullest degree. As you have received this amazing gift, the single greatest way to express your love and gratitude is to give it back. The way you do that is by sharing with someone else the gift that you were given. What if every believer made an effort each time Valentines Day rolled around to share their gift from the Lord with someone else? It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the church would grow a great deal and the Kingdom would expend.
