Judge Cummings and Judge Teer spoke to us yesterday about the upcoming warrant round-up. Warrant round-up is a state-wide process stretching from March 2nd to March 9th. Those with warrants will receive a pre-warrant notice postcard and a letter from the court with the court’s stamp. Law enforcement officials will be actively participating and serving the warrants.

The judges stressed the importance of contacting the court. They want to work with people to get these warrants resolved. The court will make payment arrangements and realize some of the warrants may be the result of financial hardship. They also stress that they can’t help you if you don’t contact them. They don’t want anyone to end up in jail over a ticket.

The Justice of the Peace office will have extended office hours on Tuesday March 5th and Thursday March 7th. They will be open till 7 p.m. on those days to allow people to come into the office if they need to or call. And the office number is 903- 438-4036 and 903-438-4026
