Sulphur Springs ISD Superintendent Mike Lamb Wins Rib Eating Contest. Donates $1,000 Prize to CANHelp.

Sulphur Springs ISD Superintendent Mike Lamb won a rib-eating contest at Soulman’s BBQ this weekend and donated the $1,000 prize to CANHelp.  Judge Robert Newsom, SSHS Football coach Alex Guerra, and SSPD Officer Sean Hoffman all competed in the contest at Soulman’s grand opening event. Soulman’s BBQ also donated 20% of the proceeds of sales on Saturday to the Hopkins County Law Enforcement Association.

About CANHelp: CANHelp is a non-profit organization, based in faith, whose mission is to provide assistance to individuals in the communities of Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County. CANHelp offers programs and training to those who want to become financially self-sufficient, various food and health items, and other basic needs to those experiencing crises, as well as information and referral services to those who call 2-1-1 Texas. CANHelp also houses a 10,000 square foot thrift store at 613 Gilmer Street run by dedicated staff and volunteers.
