From Head Coach Brandi Crouch:
“I am very proud of how our girls came out and played tonight. I stressed all week how we need to be more of an offensive threat instead of being so passive and not wanting to score. I have been engraving it in their minds that I want them all to have the mind set of taking the ball to the basket. The points scored by all of our players may not show it, but my kids did exactly what I’ve been trying to get them to do on the offensive end. They played smarter and were patient on offense which is why we had so many wide open looks on the offensive end.
On the defensive end we did a much better job on blocking out and going for defensive and offensive boards. I feel like they are starting to figure out how basketball is not just a game of scoring. We had so many steals on our press and actually closed out better on the shooters. (something we struggled with all season) I am very pleased at the progress we are making as a program as a whole and am anxious to see where this season takes us!”
