21-year-old Makenzie Alexis Noland, Texas A&M senior, dressed up in her graduation garb alongside a 13’8′ Texas alligator named Big Tex.

Noland met Big Tex in May of last year during her internship at Gator Country, an alligator adventure park in Beaumont. Makenzie and Tex have developed a special relationship since she joined the centre in May. She says he responds to his name and reacts to her hand signals when she regularly enters his pond to feed him.

Noland’s close bond with Tex influenced her decision to feature him in her graduation pictures. The wildlife ecology major wanted to showcase her passion for animals — gators in particular.
