Funeral services for Della Mae Haney, age 93, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Eason officiating.  Interment will follow at Rockdale Cemetery with her grandsons, David Smith, Steven Smith, Jimmy Boswell, Rodney Boswell, Wesley McQueen, and Adam Haney serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Darlin, Bennie Darlin, and Ken Irvin.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home.  Mrs. Haney passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at her residence.  Mrs. Haney was born on September 7, 1924 in the Shirley Community of Hopkins County, the daughter of Roy A. and Willa McAlilister Darling.  She married Jim Sidney Smith in Sulphur Springs, TX, in 1942.  He died in 1944 while serving his country in WWII.  She married Thomas Dewey Haney on January 11, 1947.  He preceded her in death on July 1, 2000.  Mrs. Haney was a seamstress for the H. D. Lee company and for I. Clark.  She was a member of Cross Spur Cowboy Church.  She is survived by two sons, James Ray and Ann Smith, Dewey Haney and wife Carolyn, and two daughters, Dorothy Mae Haney and Shirley McFarlin all of Hopkins County, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four brothers, A. B. Darlin, Joseph Lee Darlin, Leonard Darlin, and Troy Roy Darlin, and one un-named infant sister.
