Graveside service for Billy Mack McCormick, age 77, of Dike, will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper, TX with Johnny Anderson officiating. Pallbearers will be Cliff McCormick, W.O. McCormick, Mikey McCormick, Hadenn Townsend, Kelton Jeter, Forrest Jeter, Jeff Kuykendall. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. McCormick passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
Billy Mack McCormick was born September 16, 1940 in Greenville, TX, the son of W.O. McCormick and Mable (Wright) McCormick. He married Diane Truelove, in Dallas, TX on September 9, 1968; she survives. Mr. McCormick was a bulldozer operator at the Thermo Coal Mine and worked for D.L Lennon Construction.
Billy was known by all as a hard worker, who would go the distance to support his growing family. He enjoyed vacations to Beavers Bend in Oklahoma with his wife and children. The trip became an annual tradition and is the center of many memorable moments for his kids and grandkids.
Billy Mack is survived by his wife: Diane McCormick; daughter: Meredith Kuykendall and husband Jeff; sons: Cliff McCormick, W.O. McCormick, Shane McCormick, and Mikey McCormick; grandchildren: Kelton Jeter, Forrest Jeter, Hadenn Townsend, Allyiah Kelsi, and Alex McCormick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Clifford McCormick
