First responders from Hopkins County were featured on the TV show Inside Edition today. The story covered the April wreck on Highway 19 N that took the lives of the mother and father of six children. The episode was titled “How 6 Children Orphaned in Car Crash Are Coping With Their Loss” and showed the children meeting the local first responders who helped pull them from the wreckage.

From the Inside Edition website:

It was a desperate rescue attempt as first responders tried to save a family of eight trapped in their car. In body cam footage obtained by Inside Edition, you can hear sirens in the background and the children screaming for help. The Owen family was returning from a camping trip in Sulphur Springs, Texas when dad lost control of the trailer they were towing filled with camping gear. By some miracle, all six children survived.”
