Thirty-eight percent of property owners will be getting appraisal notices from the Hopkins County Appraisal Office soon. You will only get a notice if you have a $1,000 increase, if you are a new property owner or if you requested one. Commercial land studies were recently completed so those values have been increased. Agriculture values have also changed.

80% of protests last year were from people who just purchased their property and the law requires the appraisal to be within 5% of the purchase price. The appraisal office is there to help and encourages anyone with questions to come into the office or call. The Hopkins County Appraisal Office is located at 109 College St. Their phone number is 903-885-2173.
