Services for Charles Ray Jefferson, 40, of Longview will be held at Mobberly Baptist Church, 625 E. Loop 281, Longview, Tx. On January 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Dick Lindsey officiating. Mr. Jefferson passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Charles Ray Jefferson was born to the late, Kenneth Ray Jefferson and Neva McPherson on February 7, 1977 in Mineola. Charles graduated from Commerce High School where he participated in multiple Special Olympic events and earned recognition as an Honor Roll student several times. After graduation he worked for Sherwood Medical in Commerce until it closed. Charles was a warm and friendly person who enjoyed people and especially children. Charles spent time with his friends at his group home and earned extra money through various work programs. “CJ” as his friends called him, had a love for the Longhorn’s football team, eating out, spending time with his family and took great pride in all of his cousins. He would often become excited when he would learn that a new baby was expected in the family and would exclaim, “I’m going to be a cousin!” to which the family would respond, “Charles you already are a cousin!” His infectious laugh, his jolly demeanor, his sweet concern and his booming, “Hey cuzzzz!” will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Vicky Taylor; aunt Joyce Burgin and husband, Paul Fournier; uncle Horace Bates and wife, Sandy as well as numerous cousins. Charles joins his parents as well as his step dad, Mac McPherson and other loved ones already in glory.
