Chicks for Charity Hopkins County met for their last social gathering of 2017 to vote for the Non-Profit organization that would be receiving their quarterly donation. Three 501c3’s were nominated and submitted for discussion. The votes were very, very close and the final recipient was SafeT, a non-profit that helps victims of domestic violence.

Chicks enjoyed a taco salad supper and an assortment of pumpkin and spice cakes for dinner provided by Sandra Baucom’s Team. A highlight of the evening was to hear Letitia Conliffe, president of Lil 4’s Kids Club, speak to Chicks for Charity and introduce us to some of her kids. Lil 4’s Kids Club was the non-profit recipient for the August donation from Chicks and the ladies LOVED meeting the kids and hearing how Ms. Conliffe used the money donated.

Also, the ladies dedicated the November gathering to the loving memory of Bobby McDonald, one of our best supporters and very loved friend. Last year, Chicks gathered to pray for our friend, Bobby, who was very, very sick. Bobby later passed away from his illness and left a huge void – in our hearts and community. This year, we gathered in a circle again to remember the special man he was, ask God to bless his family as they heal from their grief, and remind Hopkins County of Bobby McDonald – one of our greatest ambassadors, a kind man, and a great friend.
