Funeral service for Mary Sue Clayton, age 73, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joel Tiemeyer officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Clayton passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab.

Mary Sue Clayton was born on April 9, 1944 in Cooper, TX, the daughter of Joe Preston Palmer and Neva Marie (Lanier) Palmer. She married Eddie “Sonny” Clayton in Oklahoma on March 25, 1961; he preceded her in death in 2015. Mary Sue was a homemaker, owned and operated a Dairy farm, and was a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church.

She is survived by: her daughter, Becky Smith and husband, Robert Jr., of Reilly Springs; son, Brian Clayton and wife, Michel, of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Brittani Crawford Hoover and husband, Colby, Matti Smith, Tripp Smith, Dotti Smith, Clayton Levi Smith, Preston Clayton, and Pierson Clayton; and sister, Jo Marie Neal.

Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
