Memorial service for Fred Underwood, Jr., 64, of Saltillo, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Friday officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Fred passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He was born on May 12, 1953 in Hopkins County, the son of Henry Fred, Sr. and Cora Capps Underwood. He worked as a cabinet maker and retired after 40 years. He loved to play the piano, guitar, and read his bible. He married Elexia English on June 2, 1972 in Weaver, TX. She survives. In addition to his wife, Fred is also survived by son, Chad Underwood and wife Stefani of Sulphur Springs, daughters, Amy Kirkwood and husband Scott of Garland, Marci Underwood of Saltillo, sisters, Freda Birdwell and husband Bill of Gun Barrell City, Edna Rawson of Little Elm, grandchildren, Jordan, John, Ava, and Mya Underwood, Taylor, Evan, Megan, Skyler, and Braelyn Kirkwood, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Lula Pierce, Shirley Momon, Mary Rehbeger, and Betty Peugh.
