Funeral services for Lou Jane Umphress, age 84, of Dallas, have been scheduled for 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with O. S. Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at the City Cemetery. No visitation has been scheduled. 

           Lou Jane Umphress was born in Sulphur Springs on April 9, 1933, the daughter of James Alfred Pogue and Llewellyn Stinson Pogue.  She married Michael Lee Umphress in Dallas.  He preceded her in death. Ms. Umphress was retired after working for the Dr. Pepper Company, for Mutual of New York and as a real estate agent with Charles Freeman.    

          Survivors include, sons, Michael Umphress and wife, Laura , Richard Umphress, Kent Umphress  and wife, Angela: grandchildren, Lauren, Richard, Conor, Mackenzie and Allison; great grandchildren, Luke and Grayson; brothers, Mack Pogue and wife, Jean and Jack Pogue all of Dallas. . 

           Mrs. Umphress was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James “Jamie” Pogue.
