Funeral services for Harold William “Poogie” Haynsworth, 69, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday July 24, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Lewis and Bro. James Diamond officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Martin Springs Cemetery with Tommy Dickens, Eddie Flora, Richard Benson, Roy King, Jon Moore, John Glenn, and Tommy Glenn serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Harold passed away at 3:17 a.m., on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. He was born on June 27, 1948 to John N. Haynsworth, Jr. and Lillian Gee Kennimer Haynsworth in Sulphur Springs, TX. He married Dannie Lynn Winingham Haynsworth on February 1, 1969 in Sulphur Springs, TX. Poogie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He proudly served in the United States Army and a veteran of the Vietnam war. He was a volunteer fireman for many years in Sulphur Springs. He is survived by his loving wife Dannie Lynn of 48 years of marriage, daughters, Tami Hood and husband Toby, Teri Hurley and husband Quentin, grandchildren, Kali Hood Cox and husband Kody, Garret Hood, Callen Hurley, Kaslyn Hurley, and one great-granddaughter, Karli Cox, brothers, Mike and Cynthia Haynsworth and family of Tennessee, and Harlan and Cathy Haynsworth and family of Sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Haynsworth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 553, Sulphur Springs, TX 75483.
