Local Inmate Escaped This Morning During Work Duty. Law Enforcement Asking for Public’s Assistance.

Hopkins County inmate Barney Ebey escaped from trustee duty at 8:00 AM this morning. Ebey is 5’11”, 53 years old, and 180 pounds. Inmate was on a work detail and walked off wearing green stripes. Please do not approach the subject if spotted. Please call 911 and alert law enforcement. Ebey was currently in jail for an organized crime charge related to a theft of heavy equipment.
