Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop late Friday afternoon in the vicinity of a slow moving frontal boundary. The location of this boundary will be paramount with regards to the severe potential across North TX. A few severe storms could develop, especially if the front sags farther south than currently forecast. The main hazards would be hail and damaging winds. The tornado potential still appears LOW, but we will monitor the location of the boundary. Brief bouts of heavy rain will also be a threat with storms. Towards the evening hours, storms are expected to congeal into a line with a risk for damaging winds and large hail. Heavy rain will also be possible during this time frame. The most likely area to be impacted by storms through Friday evening will be near and north of I-20. Thereafter, storms, some strong to severe, will be possible for a a good portion of North and Central TX into the overnight hours.
