Sulphur Springs Middle School Teacher Arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance

A teacher at Sulphur Springs Middle School was arrested today on campus for possession of a controlled substance. The teacher admitted to officers that she had a controlled substance in her bag after officers received a tip about the teacher carrying drugs onto campus. SSISD has released a statement saying the teacher is no longer employed by the school district. The teacher is currently being held at Hopkins County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.
