
THOMAS SELLERS IN LEADERSHIP POSITION
FOR STATE’S COMMUNITY BANKERS

Members of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) have elected Thomas C. Sellers of Alliance Bank in Sulphur Springs Chairman-Elect, a position that will vault him to the leadership of the nation’s largest state community banking organization next year.
The election was held during the 36th annual IBAT convention in Fort Worth September 25-28.
J. David Williams of HCSB-A State Banking Association in Kerrville was named chairman for the 2010-2011 term. Other officers include Vice Chairman Scott Heitkamp of ValueBank in Corpus Christi and Secretary-Treasurer Troy Robinson of Bank Texas in Quitman.
New board members elected to three-year terms are Greg Jones of American State Bank in Lubbock, Les Parker of United Bank of El Paso del Norte and Jimmy Payne of First State Bank & Trust Company in Carthage.
The Austin-based Independent Bankers Association of Texas serves as the legislative and regulatory voice of more than 2,000 Texas-based banks and branches in 700 communities.
