The 2010 Fall Festival Household Arts contest drew large crowds of spectators. Johanna Hicks, organizer for the event, reports that almost 300 entries were submitted. While some categories were down from last year, overall entries were up. Categories showing increased participation included scrapbooks, quilts, canned goods, photography, and creative crafts. The following is a breakdown of entries by age group: Children - 53 Youth - 101 Adults - 106 Older Texans - 17 Nursing Home - 19 Ribbons were awarded to each entry based on its individual merit - white for good, red for better, and blue for best. Best of Show and Reserve Best of Show ribbons were given in each age group and entry category.
