Firemen Cook BBQ and Host
Afternoon of Fun at
3rd Annual "Hot August Night!"

It was a huge crowd of cooks and "eaters" at Saturday afternoon's 3rd Annual Hot August Night Celebration, hosted by the volunteer fire departments of Hopkins County. Twenty-one cooking teams prepared some of the best BBQ in Hopkins County and people were standing in line to await it coming off the grill, despite the heat of a mid-August afternoon.

 

 

"We've got a great crowd and some of the best BBQ around," announced organizers of the event, that is to raise funds for local fired departments. "It's great to see everyone come out and support the departments and have some fun!"

 

 

Live music, firemen's games, and a variety of activities kept everyone entertained throughout the afternoon. The event began at noon on Saturday and was completed by 7:00, so that attendees could attend the PBR event in the Hopkins County Civic Center, that began at 7:30. Also, local fire department cooks fed an additional 350 meals to those in the VIP room at the PBR event.

                                                                      3rd Place - Pickton-Pine Forest Vol. Fire Department
