The Red River Horse Club conducted an AQHA and Open Horse Show in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Horse Pavillion on Saturday, with some of the finest horseflesh in the area, on parade.  Exhibitors from all across Northeast Texas were on hand for the event, bringing their horses for judging at the event.

The morning began with halter classes and the afternoon was devoted to performance events, as owners and exhibitors competed for prizes.

"We enjoy coming to the Hopkins County facility," explained one of the exhibitors. "It's a nice facility and centrally located, so no one has to drive real long distance. It gives us and opportunity to bring our horses out and compete with friends and acquaintances all across Northeast Texas.

Approved AQHA classes for points were conducted and then an open class was also conducted in each event.

And, if you missed this past weekend's event, next Saturday, June 12th, the Northeast Texas Horsemen's Association will be conducting their own Horse Show in the Civic Center, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Make plans to come out and see the horses during breaks in the Hopkins County Dairy Festival events.
