Friday Afternoon Homecoming Pep Rally

The ten members of the 2010 SSHS Homecoming Court were introduced, as they were escorted before the student body,
at Friday's Homecoming Pep Rally.

It was 10 lovely young ladies, selected by the student body, that were introduced as the 2010 SSHS Homecoming Court, and chants of spirit, loud music from the Wildcat Band, as well as performances by the Blue Blazes Drill team, that had students at SSHS cheering the Wildcats to a Homecoming victory. It was the annual Homecoming Pep Rally that featured preparing the student body for a great night of football and the naming of the new 2010 Homecoming Queen.

Each member of the court and her escort were presented and introduced before the student body and then members of the Wildcat Football Team presented their own versions of how tonight's game would bring victory.

"The excitement was high!" expressed a member of this year's Homecoming Court. "I think we'll beat Whitehouse and claim victory tonight!"

The naming of the new 2010 Homecoming Queen will be conducted in coronation activities that begin at Gerald Prim Stadium pre-game, at 6:40 p.m.

Then, the Wildcats will meet the Whitehouse Wildcats, in what has become a "stiff" rivalry. The Whitehouse team is ranked about the same as Sulphur Springs Wildcats in the Harris Ratings Poll, but when these two "high scoring" teams meet-up, anything can happen.

"We're going to have to tend to business, our offense is going to have to score points, and we're going to depend on the defense to hold them in critical situations," expressed Head Coach and Athletic Director Greg Owens. "Whitehouse can be explosive and we've got to prevent them from executing their plays!"
