It was the female side of the beef cattle industry on display in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, beginning at 7:00 a.m., on Saturday. "You have to have good mama cows or you don't produce those steers that we'll be watching here in a few minutes!" advised the judge, as he placed the entries in the Junior Beef Heifer Show, on Saturday morning. "And, these kids have got up awful early to make certain that their heifers look their best!"

Saturday morning's show featured British Breed Classes and Extotic Breed Classes, and then the champions of each competed for the overall Grand and Reserve Champion of Saturday's show. And, it was little Jalie Howle, who was almost "overpowered" by her large Hereford heifer, that walked away with the Grand Champion honors. She's a member of the Miller Grove Junior FFA.

And, Brynden Andrews, a member of the Hopkins County 4-H, led his Maine-Anjou X Chianina heifer, that had won champion of the exotic breed classes, to the Reserve Grand Champion of the 2010 Show.
