Gospel Song Festival Will
Celebrate 30th Anniversary
This Yeat at Fall Festival, Saturday

"Who would have ever thought that the Gospel Song Festival would still be going, and that we'd still be singing and performing?" expressed Ina Gore, this year's Hopkins County Fall Festival President. "It all began back in 1979 and proves just what the power of the Lord can do!"

Gore and her husband, Buddy, who regularly perform with their group "Psalms 100" will be taking the stage this year, as one of four groups performing at the 3:00 p.m. performance, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Auditorium. "At least it's air conditioned now!" proclaimed Buddy Gore, as he remembered those first years, beneath the trees, on the outside. "The Gospel Song Festival has evolved into something that we're proud of, and seems like the performers and the audiences just keep coming. Of course, I can look across the crowd and see the children on many of the former performers and the earlier audiences in the crowds, and many of those individuals have gone on to 'greater rewards,' in a much nicer place!"

Saturday's line-up will feature "Psalms 100," "The Pleasant Mountain Boys" from Mt. Pleasant, "Tommy Peugh and Group" from Sulphur Springs, and "The Wallace Family" from Emory. Also, four soloists have been chosen to add to the program, for this 30th anniversary year. "We're expecting a large crowd and wonderful show," advised Ina Gore. "It's always a homecoming of individuals across Northeast Texas, but this year being the 30th Anniversary, we're expecting a real reunion of individuals who have performed in previous years, that are planning on joining us for this milestone event!"

Make plans to come to the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, following the Fall Festival Parade and enjoy an afternoon of gospel music and help the groups celebrate 30 years of participation in the Fall Festival!''
