Murder Suspect Captured in Hopkins County

The man suspected of the slaying at the Ervin Hill housing project in Gilmer was found Monday night in Hopkins County. Sulphur Springs Police Department was contacted by the Gilmer police with leads that he was residing in the area. There were seven different Law Enforcement Agency's involved those which included: The U.S. Marshals, Immigration, Gilmer Police, Upshur County Officers, Sulphur Springs Police Department, Sulphur Springs Special Crimes Detectives, and Texas Ranger John Vance.

 

Miguel Angel Espinal Gomez, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, is the man suspected of these killings in Gilmer. Officers were told he was hiding in a house on County Road 3520 in Dike, Texas. Law Enforcement surrounded the area and took him without incident. Evidence was found in the house linking him to the slaying. At the age of 25, Miguel Gomez will be tried on Capital Murder charges.

 

Hats off to all the Law Enforcements Agencies who took part in the capture of the suspected killer, Hopkins County Citizens and the Victim's families can "breath a sigh of relief" now that the suspect is in custody.
