"Thank You's" Expressed For
Successful Gala, Tuesday Night

Sally Hamilton's committee provided a wonderful display of hors d' oeuvres for Tuesday night's
reception. Here Barbara McKenzie and Tom Seller have an opportunity to share some of the
success of this  year's Lights of Life Campaign.

It was a festive time and a celebration of sweet success, when Dr. Bill and Peggy Dietz, 2009 Lights of Light Gala Co-Chairs, took stage and thanked the community and sponsors for a very successful event this year. "What a way to start off 2009" expressed a jubilant and relieved Bill and Peggy Dietz. "With the help of everyone and the support of the local community our gala grossed over $120,000.00 and netted some $80,000.00 to add to the Hospital Foundation and to make improvements to our local medical facility!"

Jane Sutton, representing the Hopkins County Ladies Auxiliary, was cited for the dedication and Gold
Sponsorship that the group made to this year's campaign.

GSC Enterprizes was also recognized for their Gold Sponsorship to the 2009 Lights of Life Gala.

Mickie McKenzie, 2009 Chairman of the Hospital Foundation Board addressed the group, thanking them for their hard work and dedication, and related the simple mission statement of the foundation as being to provide quality healthcare for the greater Hopkins County area. "We're dedicated to making sure that our local healthcare facility is something that everyone can be proud of an use, without having to go out of town for care," expressed McKenzie. "It's much more convenient to use the local facility and provide a great service to our local families!"

Mickie McKenzie, 2009-10 Chairman of the Hospital Foundation, praised the efforts
of volunteers and the Hopkins County community for providing quality healthcare
in Hopkins County.

McKenzie and the Dietzs invited everyone to take a guided tour of the newly constructed Children's Therapy Garden's, located at the Rehabilitation Center and provided by funds from the Foundation Board. And, when everyone viewed the nice new installation, it was being used by children and offered an inviting area for children to play, during time of treatment at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Kaylee Spencer, daughter of Brian and Jenny Spencer, was more than happy to
demonstate the many advantages of the new Children's Therapy Gardens.

Polly Swatsell and Lynda Hager really wanted to play on the slide and swings, but were "too chicken" to
get their picture made!

Additionally, McKenzie announced that Craig and Jennifer Roberts had agreed to accept the challenge as being Co-Chairs of the 2010 Lights of Life Gala, and called on them to come forward. "This is the first public service project that my wife and I have worked together on!" quipped a whismical, Craig Roberts. "We'll see how that goes! No, seriously, we're devoted to the healthcare of the local facility and with two children, Matthew and Mark, who have repeatedly used our local hospital, we're passionate about making certain that the best of care is available for everyone. We know 'first-hand' the many dedicated individuals who work to provide quality care to Hopkins County and feel a deep need to make certain that citizens in Hopkins County have the quality care they deserve!"

Craig and Jennifer Roberts have accepted the challenge as the Co-Chairs for the
2010 Lights of Life Gala.

A date for the 2010 Gala has already been reserved for January 16, 2010, with plans already underway for the event to be another success!
