"I think we've got something for just about everyone," expressed Mary Ellen Hoybook, this year's coordinator for the First United Methodist Church Back to School Clothing Sale. "We've collected clothes from everyone and managed to arrange them conveniently throughout the church gym, so that shoppers can come in and find the sizes that they need!"

"It's been quite an undertaking to collect and assemble the clothing, but our Sunday School Class wanted to adopt a program that was a service to the community and allowed us to 'give back' to those who were in need," continued Hoybook. "We've really been blessed through this drive and expect the families who need to outfit their children for the upcoming school year to benefit, as well. With tough economic times, we felt a need to provide this service, where families can purchase items for 25 cents each and hopefully ease the burden of starting the new school term."

The doors will open on Saturday morning, August 29th, and the sale will continue until noon.

The money collect for the 25 cent items will be donated to the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR), which aid other families in need, and any clothing that is not purchased on Saturday, will be donated to the League Street Church of Christ, for their clothing ministry that is an on-going project in our community.

"We're have some great, gently used clothing, that will be perfect for both youth and adults, to get ready for the autumn season. So, we invited everyone needing clothing for their family to come out on Saturday and take advantage of this ministry!" exclaimed Hoybook, as she organized another box of donated clothing. "We look forward to helping the greater Hopkins County area!"
