It will truly be "stepping back in time" for those who make plans to attend the Hopkins County Folk Festival, hosted by the Hopkins County Historical Museum, on Saturday, May 8th. The gates will open at 9:00 a.m. and continue through 3:00 p.m., with live entertainment and things being done "like the pioneers did them."

Docents will be dressed in period costumes and exhibiting the arts of quilting, wood carving, butter making, candlemaking, and tin punch.

And, local bands will be entertaining the crowd, all day.

The Hopkins County Historical Museum and all buildings in the park will be open and available for tours.

Highlight of the day will be a beans and cornbread dinner, served at 11:00 a.m., on the grounds.

Admission to the park is $3.00, with children under six free.

"This is a great way to come out, learn about Hopkins County history and enjoy a day of fun in the great spring weather," explained one of the Historical Society members. "We'll have antique tractors and farm equipment on display, some antique automobiles, and will be conducting a bake sale, so that your Mom doesn't have to cook on Sunday. It'll be a great day in Hopkins County!
