Reunites Friends and Celebrates History
by: Bobby McDonald
Beautiful sunshine and autumn weather greeted visitors to Hopkins County Historial Museum and Park, on Saturday, for the annual Folk Festival, that celebrates history and serves as meeting place for friends and family. "The weather was just great!" exclaimed Carlie Penson, one of the organizers for this year's event. "We had plenty of sunshine and the temperatures were just wonderful. It was a beautiful day to be outside enjoying all of the activities!"
Indian dances, music, antique cars and tractors on display, tours of the historic buildings, candlemaking, sewing and quilting, and booths of all kinds awaited the many visitors who came out and enjoyed the autumn day at Heritage Park.

And, of course, everyone could smell the Dutch oven cooking, and eagerly awaited the serving line forming for lunch!

"It's our way at Heritage Park of celebrating our history, showcasing the many exhibits in the park, and providing a fun day for the entire family," advised Penson. "It's our annual tribute to Hopkins County Heritage.
