Late Nights Working on
Lighted Christmas Floats
by: Bobby McDonald
Polly Swatsell, Jackie Thornton, and Lynda Hager adjust lights
and make certain that everything is anchored on the Lights of Life Gala float.
They're working "feverishly" all over town, to make certain that the finishing touches are applied to a variety of Christmas floats, to be entered in Friday Night's 2nd Annual Lions Club Christmas Parade. Workers are staying up late at night and working in cold, and drafty barns, as they keep their creations a secret!
"We've been working every night this week," allowed Polly Swatsell, a member of the team that is creating the Lights of Life Gala float. "We're stringing lights, glittering letters, and getting everything ready for the float to 'pull out' on Friday night!"

Meanwhile, Pam Sellers, Gloria Mitchell, and Helen McDaniels were stapling skirting on a float, and Lynda Hager, Jackie Thornton, and others were making certain that the measurements were right, as Dr. Bill Dietz, handled the heavy work!
Gloria Mitchell and Pam Sellers pause long enough from their stapling duties to have a little bit
of fun, as they prepare the float for Friday's parade.
"We had to 'get in high gear' once the Wildcats won their game on last Friday night," explained Sellers. "When you're working on a float, one day can make all of the difference, and that time frame got shortened, when the play-off game was announced for Saturday!"
"We'll be ready to 'roll' on Friday afternoon!" exclaimed Swatsell. "I've got faith we can get it done and have it ready! Look for the one with the lighted reindeer, lighted Christmas trees, and a 'surprise' pulling vehicle!"

Make plans to be in Sulphur Springs, and enjoy the many Christmas events scheduled for Friday night, and be along the parade route, as the lighted parade leaves Buford Park promptly at 7:00 p.m.!
Workers use a tape measure to make certain that everything is in place on this float, for
Friday night's event!
