Sunday was an exciting day at First Baptist Church, in Sulphur Springs, as members "broke ground" on the new $3.5 million dollar Multi-Purpose Building, designed to serve the church and the community. The building will include a gymnasium and additional classrooms to the meet the needs of growth at First Baptist Church.

"We're planning to receive pledges from our members to complete the building, without additional debt being incurred by the church," allowed some of the Church Deacons. "We hope to have the building completed 'debt free' in 18 months!"

"Sunday's ceremony marks the work that will begin this week, in preparing the ground for the facility," allowed another spokesman. "We're excited about being able to serve our congregation and the entire Hopkins County Community, with this facility."
