Local FFA Begins Holiday
Fruit & Meat Sales

by: Bobby McDonald

Activity at the Sulphur Springs High School Vocational Agriculture Department was on "high alert" on Thursday morning, September 24th, as the annual Holiday Fruit and Meat Sales began. Students involved in the FFA Program sell the delicious fruit and meat as a fundraiser for the local FFA Chapter, each year.

"I guess the local FFA Chapter has been selling fruit and meat for approximately 40 years," denoted Vocational Agriculture Teacher Dannie Johnson. "The products are of the highest quality and we have repeat customers coming back year after year, for their holiday needs!"

This year the chapter will be selling a variety of hams, sausage, bacon, chicken, and beef, as well as a "fiesta pak" of tamales, marinated fajita meat, and even pecan cobbler! Delivery for the meats is November 11th, just in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday. And, most of the meat sales products can even be frozen for Christmas.

The fruit sales, which have always been a popular event for the local chapter, will include apples, oranges, pears, and grapefruit, or mixed boxes of your favorite fruits. The sale also includes a summer sausage and cheese pack that looks delicious as well. These products will be delivered on December 1st, just in time for you Christmas parties and holiday gatherings.

Contact one of the local FFA members and place your order for holiday delivery!!! You are getting your holiday shopping done early, and supporting the local FFA students, as well!!!
