The rain didn't dampen the spirits of those involved in the Annual Earl Martin 42 Tournament, conducted as a part of the Hopkins County Fall Festival Saturday events. Nestled in the comfort of the Hopkins County Civic Center, teams remained dry and worked on intense competition.
"We had a large crowd of 42 players, this year," exclaimed Joyce Davis, coordinator for this year's event. "And, the competition was stiff!"

Veteran team of Rodney Miller and Turk Morgan, beat out all of the other competition, in Saturday's event to claim the championship. They won the match with Junior Hinton and Larry Fite to claim the crown, as Hinton and Fite took the second place trophy home. Third place was Gary Roberts and his partner, Ernist Young.
"It's great to come inside on a rainy afternoon, when we need the rain, and enjoy a friendly competition," exclaimed Larry Fite, as he prepared to enter the championship round. "Most of us have been coming to these tournaments for a number of years and seems like every year we'll 'pick-up' another new team or two!"
