Farmer's Market Opens Season
On Main Street Saturday

The staff from Cibo Vino Restaurant in Winnsboro, hosted a booth to highlight their
establishment and offered tasty bread samples.

 

Local farmers came to town on Saturday with vegetables, flowering plants, herbs, and a variety of other products that they will be offering throughout the remainder of the Spring, Summer, and Autumn, as the venue had opened on Main Street. Saturday was the first day of the "every Saturday" event, that will be hosted through October 17th.

"We sold out of eggs in less than an hour of opening," advised J.R. Fisher of the Reilly Springs Community. "But, I guess we should have brought more!"

 

 

"I sold out of new potatoes and am about out of strawberries," advised local farmer, Marlin Webb, of the Arbala Community. "Business has been good and hopefully this is something that will just get better and better as the season progresses. Folks in Hopkins County like fresh produce and we're here to provide it for them!"

"I'm pleased," expressed City Manager Marc Maxwell. "We've got some quality produce and seems like the public is coming to make their purchases. And, once they taste the quality, they're sure to return!"

And, it was fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as honey and syrup, offered at this booth.
