For Customers

This vendor discussed a new brand of dog food, with a potential customer, on Thursday,
at Northeast Texas Farmers Coop.
It was a large crowd of local residents that chose to make the Northeast Texas Farmers Co-op their destination of choice on a beautiful spring day, Thursday, when the local business hosted their annual Spring Expo. A variety of vendors were on hand to demonstrate new products for both the farm and home. "It's a great crowd!" exclaimed General Manager Brad Johnson, as he saw the line of people gathered to attend the event. "Our staff and vendors have prepared a number of demonstrations that will benefit our customers."

Lunch of good ol' hamburgers, with all the fixin's was available to those in attendance, as well as a number of door prizes furnished by Co-op and individual companies who were demonstrating their products. "It's an opportunity to get out and get ready for spring!" exclaimed Weldon Glossup, as he signed up for a door prize. "It's gardening time and even if we don't want to admit it, it's time to start mowing the yard!"

Equine feeds was the topic of discussion at this station.
Thursdays booths included tips for gardening, several lines of new feed and additives for livestock, seed dealers, lawn and garden sprays, and one of the most interesting demonstrations was on pond care. At the pond care demonstration, hosted by Boatcycle, of Henderson, Texas, the vendor encouraged local pond owners to use the natural control for pond algaes, tilapia fish. The fish can be used in this part of the country by stocking your pond with them in the spring, but they will not survive the winter. However, they can harvest the algae from your pond and you can catch them before the temperatures fall (and they are good eating, too).

The proper use of weed killers was discussed at this booth.

Local residents reported an informative day and plenty of new products to try, following Thursday's Spring Expo. One local man exclaimed, "I guess now that I've been to the expo there isn't any excuse but to go home and get started on my garden!"

A hamburger lunch was served, compliments of Northeast Texas Farmers Co-op.
