It was an enjoyable time for both residents and their families, on Saturday afternoon, as the Family Council hosted a hamburger and hot dog cookout, on the patio of the local nursing home. "It's a chance for family members to visit and bring their loved ones out in the sunshine and enjoy the nice weather," allowed Charlotte Baxter, with the Carriage House staff. "Everyone has a good time and we planned it before it got too hot in the season!"

Kenneth Shaw served as the "official" cook for Saturday night's cookout.

"These burgers are great!" exclaimed Elma Crouch, one of the Carriage House residents. "And, its great to get outside and enjoy the fresh air!"

With smoke drifting from the grill, manned by Kenneth Shaw, and a cool breeze blowing, the weather was almost ideal.

Meanwhile, Samuel Gassaway, president of the Carriage House Family Council, outlined a plan to sell individual bricks to go on a memorial wall, and honor residents of the home. The $50.00 for the purchase of the bricks will be used to finance activities for the residents and to construct the memorial wall.

If you would like to purchase a brick, contact Gassaway or pick-up a form at Carriage House Manor.

Carriage House residents and their families enjoyed visiting and a great meal, on Saturday night.
