October – Submissions into the Hopkins County Fall Festival Hay Bale Sculpture Contest will be displayed around town during the entire month of October. Winners announced at 2pm on October 26th.
October 19th – Fall Festival Parade will begin at 10am starting from Buford Park. Grand Marshal-Justice of the Peace Brad Cummings. Sponsored by East Texas Physical Therapy.
October 23rd–26th – Triple T Amusements Carnival will be set up at Hopkins County Civic Center Wednesday through Saturday! Sponsored by City National Bank.
October 22nd– Fall Festival Senior Citizens Day will begin at 1:30 pm at Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center with the presentation of awards for the Male and Female Senior Volunteer of the Year. Refreshments will be served at 1:45 pm and Bingo will begin at 2 pm. 150 Martin Luther King Blvd. Sponsored by Wesley House Assisted Living and Legacy Hospice.
October 25th-26th 10am-6pm: Kids Zone Jump Zone featuring a FREE jump zone with 6 inflatables from Jerry’s Jump Zone! SSHS Student Council will be on hand helping kids onto the inflatables and providing face painting! Sponsored by Clayton Homes.
October 25th-26th 10am-6pm: Kids Zone Petting Zoo featuring a FREE petting zoo of farm animals from Sulphur Springs FFA. Sponsored by Farm Country Inc.
October 25th-26th 10am-6pm: Kids Zone Water Walking Balls featuring a FREE walking on water attraction for kids to enjoy. Sponsored by Abacus Home Healthcare.
October 25th-26th 10am-6pm: Arts & Crafts Show featuring homemade craft items and more in the SSHS Cafeteria. Creative Arts Contest entries will be on display will be on display Friday afternoon from 1:00-5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. till 1:45 p.m. If you would like to participate contact Johanna Hicks at 903-885-3443. October 25th-26th 10am-6pm: Boutique Market in the Hopkins County Civic Center featuring local vendors selling fashion and apparel from their local shops.
October 25th-26th 10am-6pm: Exhibit Hall in the Hopkins County Civic Center Banquet Hall featuring a wide selection local vendors and merchants to learn about and shop!
October 25th 11:30am: Hopkins-Rains Soil and Water Conservation District Hay Show: There will be a hay show and lunch followed by an auction of the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion hay. Proceeds will go towards a scholarship benefitting students majoring in Agricultural Science.
October 26th 1pm: Annual Earl W. Martin 42 Tournament will be held at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center. There will be cash prizes and lots of fun. $10 early registration fee. $25 after October 18th. To register contact Karon Weatherman at 903-885-1661. 150 Martin Luther King Blvd.
November 2nd-4th: SSHS Theatre Presents: The Addams Family Musical. SSHS Theatre will perform The Addams Family Musical at SSISD Auditorium. Showtimes: Saturday 7pm, Sunday 2 pm, and Monday at 7pm.
