Fall Festival Board Meets Monday and
Will Host Business After Hours, Thursday
by: Bobby McDonald
Members of the Hopkins County Fall Festival Board met on Monday night, to finalize plans for the upcoming 41st annual event, and make plans for hosting the August Business After Hours, on Thursday, at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center.
"We'll be having a ribbon cutting, furnishing door prizes, and serving refreshments, to get everyone ready for the event!" announced Susan Neal, President of the Fall Festival Board. "We want everyone to come out and join with us in making this the best Fall Festival yet!"
Fall Festival Board members reported on their various events and gave progress reports,
at Monday night's meeting.

Neal received committee reports from board members present, with things yet needed for the festival discussed. New events and attractions including a County Fish Fry Contest, on the last Saturday of the festival, will be hosted during this year's festival. "We hope everyone will come out and enjoy some of the best catfish in the county, on Saturday night, September 18th, before going to the concert!" explained Neal. "We knew that everyone would be tired from the stew contest that day, and that they would be wanting to eat, before attending the concert, so it was just a logical choice to host a contest that would feature some of the best cooking in Hopkins County. We have cooks line-up and ready to cook fish, in a competition, and are asking anyone who is a good cook, to enter the contest!"
Make plans to join the Hopkins County Fall Festial, on Thursday, at 5:30 p.m., at the Civic Center, for the Business After Hours, and you can get a preview of the many, many events that are planned for this year's Fall Festival, September 10th -18th!
Fall Festival Board members received reports and enjoyed an "ice cream social" provided by
board member, Karon Weatherman, at the Senior Citizen's Building, Monday night.
