Four Como-Pickton High School students, Taeler Schepp, Whitney Schepp, Brodie Ogles, and Hank Tullis, like most other
teens in Hopkins County are anticipating the beginning of the 2010-11 school year, but have some concerns about giving up
the freedoms of summer and settling into the routines of daily studies.

School officially begins for students on Monday, August 23rd, but for many of the high school students, they have already begun football and volleyball practices, and have begun a daily routine of balancing school and a part time job. The 2010-11 school year is here and most of them are excited about beginning a new year of challenges and excitement. However, most hate to return to the routines, after a summer vacation of carefree days, hanging out with friends, and the freedoms of summer.

We met up with four Como-Pickton High School students this week, as they were attending volleyball and football practices, but still enjoying the last of the summer freedoms that Hopkins County offers. They are Brodie Ogles, Whitney Schepp, Taeler Schepp, and Hank Tullis, and they demonstrated some of the fashions that are to be worn this school year, in the classroom.

"We've already been shopping and plan on going shopping this weekend for some more school clothes," advised Taeler and Whitney. "It's exciting to go shopping for new clothes, but we're really not ready for term papers, book reports, reading assignments and math problems!"

"We're already going to football practice, regularly, but at least now, we have some time off to go to the lake and running around, and once school starts, school and football practice will take up most of our time," advised Brodie and Hank. "We're looking forward to the football games and the traveling to other towns to play!"

"Volleyball workouts have been tough, but the games are fun and it's great to compete," inserted Taeler and Whitney!

"We enjoy the school work, once you get everything in a routine, but it's hard at first to go from summer to the books," advised Hank.

"Speak for yourself, I don't really enjoy the routine of studying!" added Brodie. "But, it has to be done to get the grades and to play sports!"

Meanwhile, Brodie, Whitney, Taeler, and Hank, will be joining close to 4500 other students in Hopkins County, on Monday, as they begin what will soon become routine, studying, completing assignments, and yes, doing that dreaded homework!

This is wishing all Hopkins County
students a successful year!!!
