This beautiful Crhistmas tree greeted visitors to the Southwest Dairy Museum for
Monday's holiday program.

It was two programs hosted at the Southwest Dairy Museum, on Monday, at 1:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m., when Hopkins County Agri-Life Extension Agent, Johanna Hicks and other agents from across Northeast Texas, conducted their 36th Annual Holiday Program. This year's theme was "Holiday's from the Heart" and featured craft items and baked goods that you could make for Christmas gifts, home decor, and holiday decorating and entertaining. "I think everyone is thinking about ways to save money and stil enjoy the holidays," expressed Hicks. "And, we have some ideas that are both practical, cost saving, and great ways to celebrate the season!"

Cost for the program was $2.00 and participants packed both sessions of Monday's presentation.

A number of door prizes were awarded to those attending, and the Southwest Dairy Museum conducted a "tasting tour" of the many, many items that they have availble to make gift baskets for the holidays. They served cheeses, dips, holiday desserts, and other items made from real dairy products.

"This has me officially in the Christmas spirit!" exclaimed one exiting participant. "It's got me ready to go home, start making some of these ideas and begin my Christmas shopping. I purchased some cheese tonight!"

Remember the Southwest Dairy Museum as a perfect place to purchase items for those gift baskets and holiday bags, as you support the local Hopkins County Dairy industry!
