St. Phillips Episcopal Church Invites
Local Gardeners to Participate in Community Garden

by: Bobby McDonald

Do you have a "green thumb" and no place to plant your garden? Do you enjoy growing things and helping others in the community? Well, St. Phillips Episcopal Church has a project for you! Members of the church have started a community garden to aid the needy in this community and invite local gardeners to come and plant vegetables, with their only "rent" being 10% of the produce donated to the needy.

Members of the church have already plowed the garden spot, next to their church, on College Street and invite you to come out and "stake" your claim to a gardening area. Bring your seed, plants, and "elbow grease" and help make this summer an enjoyable time, working together with local people and making a difference in this community.

So, you say "a garden is going to need water!" Well, you can't use that for an excuse, as the church is offering to provide the water for the entire garden.

Garden plots are 10 feet X 10 feet and gives you plenty of room to grow your favorite vegetable.

For information and to be included in this great project, call the church office at (903)885-5921, and join the fun!
