East Texas Wildflowers
by: Bobby McDonald

'Tis the season for wildflowers in East Texas. Drive down almost any country road and you'll find a collection of beautiful wildflowers on the roadside. It's the season for taking those scenic drives through East Texas, admiring the scenery and thinking about the past. Suddenly, that old barn, faded old house, or grove of trees brings back a throng of memories from childhood, when you went to visit your grandparents out on the farm, or perhaps you lived in an old homeplace in the country!

The roads in almost any direction from Sulphur Springs will lead to spring's beauty of wildflowers. Enjoy the following pictures and perhaps plan your own route through scenic East Texas!

And, the "Queen" of Wildflowers, Lady Bird Johnson
was reared in East Texas' Karnack!!!
